Convent of Son Carrió

Convent of Son Carrió

This historic convent, now a cultural centre, offers exhibitions and activities, ideal for those seeking art and tradition in a unique setting.
The Convent of Son Carrió, which was called the Convent of the Daughters of Mercy, of the order of Saint Francis, was built between 1905 and 1915 on the site of an earlier building dating from 1899, which already served as a primary school for girls and a Sunday school for adult girls. In 2004 the building was acquired by the Sant Llorenç des Cardassar Town Council and in 2011 it was refurbished to house the Day Centre (on the ground floor and first floor) and the Municipal Library (on the first floor). The chapel is used as an exhibition and conference room.
