Costa dels Pins
The Costa dels Pins is one of the most exclusive and peaceful corners of eastern Mallorca: a natural residential area where Mediterranean pines reach towards the sea, the streets are wide and quiet, and rocky coves appear almost like secrets hidden among the vegetation. No crowds, no busy beachfront atmosphere. The Mediterranean in its purest form.
As its name suggests, the Costa dels Pins lies on a mountainside that forms part of Mallorca’s Llevant range, a discontinuous mountain chain running from Artà to Felanitx and never rising above six hundred metres.
Costa dels Pins: the natural coast of eastern Mallorca
The Costa dels Pins is located on the southern slope of the Serra de Son Jordi, very close to Cap des Pinar, in the municipality of Son Servera. It is a residential coastal development where pine trees line the broad streets and large plots, creating a cool, aromatic microclimate that clearly sets it apart from other tourist areas in Mallorca’s Llevant.
Above the mountain there is a protected nature reserve that prevents further expansion, ensuring that Costa dels Pins preserves its exclusive character and low density. There are no large hotel complexes or crowded promenades: only pines, rock, blue sea and silence.
From Costa dels Pins you can reach Cala Millor by bike along the coastal cycle lane or via the Manacor-Artà Greenway, making it an excellent starting point for exploring eastern Mallorca.
The coves of Costa dels Pins: rocky corners for relaxation
The coves of Costa dels Pins are its greatest attraction. They are small, little-frequented rocky inlets, well preserved and with extraordinarily clear waters. No beach bars or rental sunbeds: just rock, pine trees and the Mediterranean. Perfect for adult relaxation and for snorkelling and diving lovers.
Cala Es Rajolí
Es Rajolí is the best-known cove on the Costa dels Pins and one of eastern Mallorca’s most appreciated spots by those who know it. Its transparent waters wash a shoreline with posidonia, rocks and a small pine wood that provides natural shade in summer.
The sandy and rocky seabeds are rich in fish and ideal for snorkelling. Access is via steps carved into the rock.
It has no services, which helps keep it quiet and uncrowded.
Cala Sa Marjal
Sa Marjal is another of the Costa dels Pins coves, especially appreciated by snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. Its seabed combines sand and rock with notable marine biodiversity, in a peaceful, uncrowded setting.
Cala Es Ribell
Platja d’Es Ribell completes the trio of outstanding coves on Costa dels Pins. It is the most sheltered of the three: a small corner of calm waters surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.
Costa dels Pins, an ideal destination for a getaway
Beyond its coves, the Costa dels Pins offers activities and experiences that make it a complete destination for a quality getaway in eastern Mallorca.
Snorkelling and diving in Costa dels Pins
The coves are a paradise for snorkelling and diving. Posidonia meadows and the tranquillity of the small inlets ensure excellent visibility and rich marine life.
Kayaking and paddle surfing
Es Rajolí is one of the best places in the area to set off by kayak or paddle board, thanks to its calm waters and the absence of motor boats.
Golf on Costa dels Pins
Just minutes from the coves is the Son Servera Golf Club, an 18-hole course set among Mallorcan pines and Mediterranean scrub, with a restaurant, pro shop and training services.
A hard-to-beat combination: coves in the morning, golf in the afternoon.
Walks among pines and connection with the Greenway
The tree-lined streets of Costa dels Pins are perfect for wandering without a plan, guided only by the scent of pine and sea. From here you can connect with the Manacor-Artà Greenway or reach Cala Millor along the coastal cycle lane.
