Railway Museum of Mallorca

Themed museum in Mallorca, located in the restored Son Carrió train station, offers a unique journey through the history of the railway on the island.

The railway line between Manacor and Artà, now converted into a greenway, was inaugurated in 1921 and suspended in June 1977. It cohesive the Llevant region of Mallorca and provided a response to the transportation needs for goods and people. Today, this route allows us to reach the Railway Museum from Manacor or Artà by taking a pleasant walk.

The Museum is the result of a collective effort. Thanks to the efforts of the FERROCAIB Foundation, Mallorca's railway heritage was preserved. In turn, the joint work of the Sant Llorenç des Cardassar Town Council and Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca allowed the Museum to see the light in 2025.

The Museum, besides being an example of heritage preservation, also has a strong social component. It is managed by 3 Salut Mental, a leading entity in the field of mental health in Mallorca. One of the main goals of this museum space is the creation of jobs for people with disabilities.
