Son Carrió hiking route
The hiking route to Son Carrió step by step
The Son Carrió hiking route is easy to follow. It starts in Cala Millor and combines seafront walking, coastal scenery and rural inland landscapes until it reaches Son Carrió.
Section 1: Cala Millor → Sa Punta de n’Amer → Sa Coma beach
From the starting point, the route follows the seafront promenade to Sa Punta de n’Amer. It then continues along Avinguda Baladres, Avinguda de les Palmeres and Sa Coma beach, before connecting with Carrer Atzeroles and Carrer Alzina.
This is the most coastal part of the route, with views of the Mediterranean and the woodland of Sa Punta de n’Amer.
Section 2: Camí de Na Gatera and Mallorca’s dry-farming landscape
Cross the road carefully and take Camí de Na Gatera. Here you will see the typical Mallorcan dry-farming landscape, with almond, carob and fig trees, dry-stone walls and rural silence.
Section 3: Camí dels Molins and the railway bridge
Camí de Sa Marina leads to the Sa Torre Nova road. The route then continues along Camí de Cas Canonge and Camí dels Molins, crossing the railway bridge, an underpass of the old Palma-Artà line.
This line, active from 1921 to 1977, is now part of the Manacor-Artà Greenway.
Section 4: Sa Torre Nova road → Son Carrió
The final section meets the Sa Torre Nova road again. Take extra care, as it is narrow and busy. After roughly one kilometre you reach Son Carrió.
The return can be made along the same route or by arranging transport.
